Change an address on your driver’s licence, vehicle permit and health card
How to change the address on your health card, driver’s licence, and/or vehicle permit online.
What you need to know
If you have moved, you need to change the address on your health card, driver’s licence and vehicle permit (the green ownership document).
After you have updated your address:
- your new driver’s licence showing your new address will be mailed to you
- you will not be sent a new health card, as it does not show an address
- you will need to visit a ServiceOntario centre to pick up your new vehicle permit and exchange your old one, a replacement fee may be charged if you do not bring your existing permit with you
Deadline for updating your address
By law, you must update your driver’s licence and vehicle permit within 6 days of your address changing.
You must also update the address on your health card within 30 days of your address changing, so that the Ministry of Health has your new address on file.
You can update the address on all of your documents online at the same time.
