3. Skill/experience requirements

  1. Class divisions
    1. U23 18–23, Senior 18–40 and Master 41–55:
      1. C Class: 0–5 bouts
      2. B Class: 6–14 bouts
      3. A Class: 15+ bouts
    2. Youth 14–15 & 16–17:
      1. C Class: 0–5 bouts
      2. B Class: 6–14 bouts
      3. A Class: 15–24 bouts
    3. Youth 8–9, 10–11 & 12–13:
      1. C Class: 0–5 bouts
      2. B Class: 6–14+

4. Matching guidelines

  1. Competitive Division
    1. An Athlete’s competitive division is a combination of their Gender, Age Category, Experience Classification, and Weight Classification (for example, Female Senior C-Class 54 kg). In judged competition, Athletes may only be paired against other Athletes of the same competitive division.
  2. Changing Competitive Division (Athlete Upgrades)
    1. An Athlete whose abilities are better aligned to a different Age Category or Experience Class may request an upgrade by completing and submitting an Upgrade Form to the Muaythai Ontario Board of Directors. The upgrade request must be sent and approved at least 2 days prior the event. On occasion, special cases may be upgraded and approved by the Board of Director on the spot.
  3. Permanency of Upgrades
    1. Approved Experience Class upgrades are not permanent. Age Category upgrades do not prevent an Athlete from continuing to compete at their natural Age Category or the right division.
