Summary of Policy

An Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) recipient who resides in a long-term care home under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007, which was formerly an approved charitable home for the aged under the Charitable Institutions Act may be eligible to receive an amount not exceeding $30 each month he or she resides in the former approved charitable home, if they require financial assistance to travel in the community.

Summary of Directive

  • A monthly amount not exceeding $30 may be paid to ODSP recipients who live in a long-term care home under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007, which was formerly an approved charitable home for the aged under the Charitable Institutions Act if, in the opinion of the Director, they require financial assistance to travel in the community.

Intent of Policy

To provide an amount for community travel and transportation for residents of a long-term care home under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007, which was formerly an approved charitable home for the aged under the Charitable Institutions Act.

Application of Policy
