EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Explanatory Note was written as a reader’s aid to Bill 207 and does not form part of the law.  Bill 207 has been enacted as Chapter 18 of the Statutes of Ontario, 2016.

The Bill proclaims the first full week in November in each year as Treaties Recognition Week.

An Act to proclaim Treaties Recognition Week

Assented to June 9, 2016

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

Treaties Recognition Week

1. The week beginning on the first Sunday in November in each year is proclaimed as Treaties Recognition Week.

Commencement

2. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3. The short title of this Act is the Treaties Recognition Week Act, 2016.
