Ontario Amateur Sport Fund
Learn about our multi-year funding program for recognized sports organizations.
Overview
The Ontario Amateur Sport Fund (OASF) provides funding to eligible and recognized provincial sport organizations and multi-sport organizations (PSO/MSOs).
It helps fund programs and services that support the development of athletes, coaches and officials across Ontario.
The organizations supported by the Ministry are key partners in the sport system and play a critical role by encouraging participation in recreational and competitive sport programs.
The fund provides greater support for PSO/MSOs to:
- strengthen athlete programming
- identify clear athlete performance targets
- develop a stronger talent identification system
- operationalize strategic plans for their organizations
Program outcomes
The Ontario Amateur Sport Fund aims to:
- build a diverse and quality amateur sport system that is safe, ethical, accessible, and inclusive
- grow an amateur sport sector that contributes to healthy, active communities throughout the province
- provide every sport participant access to qualified coaches and reduce barriers to quality programming across all stages of athlete development
- position Ontario to continually place a high percentage of athletes on national teams attending major Games (for example, Olympics, Paralympics, World Championships)
The Ontario Amateur Sport Fund will pave the way for Ontarians to have access to a best-in-class amateur sport system from the playground to the podium.
