Partnerships for jobs and economic growth
How to partner with the Ontario government to develop a plan to grow your industry.
How it works
The Partnerships for Jobs and Growth Act, 2014 is designed to strengthen connections between businesses, research institutions, governments, and other organizations to make Ontario’s industries more productive, innovative and globally competitive.
Businesses and like-minded organizations in a given region can form economic clusters and benefit from sharing information and resources.
By working together, we can develop plans that will support emerging or established clusters and boost Ontario’s overall economy.
How we can help you
The legislation supports emerging or established clusters that see a role for government in their development and planning activities. This role could include:
- advice and support to create a cluster plan
- seed funding to help evaluate a cluster’s potential
- a single point of contact for government programs
Who can participate
We encourage groups comprised of the following to submit plans:
- Ontario businesses and entrepreneurs
- research institutes, universities and colleges
- municipal, academic and industry leaders
- trade organizations and business councils
- agencies with an economic development focus
Why it’s important
These plans will:
- help businesses become more productive and efficient
- support the development of innovative new products and services
- improve Ontario’s global competitiveness
- strengthen local economies
- help create jobs
- make it easier to attract and keep investors
