Re: Environmental approvals process
Long delays in receiving an ECA [environmental compliance approval] acts as a deterrent for companies to invest in Ontario, and ironically most of these new investments will yield environmental improvements over existing operations. Furthermore, while the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has been accommodating in accelerating approvals on a one-off basis, the system needs additional changes so that can it deliver timely approvals consistently….”
Re: Occupational Health and Safety Act
Repeal Section 34 regulation and establish an information sharing protocol with the federal Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change Canadian Environmental Protection Act New Substances Notification Regulations (Chemicals and Polymers).”
Re: Hours of service for commercial vehicle drivers
Electric vehicles are far quieter than traditional combustion engine vehicles. They can easily operate into the late or early hours without making the noise disturbance that combustion engine vehicles make. Therefore the laws covering electric vehicles should reflect this, in order to take advantage of the special advantages that electric vehicles have.”

It would be great to see a standard hour work week across sectors especially when it comes to calculating overtime pay between sectors.”
Re: Waste reduction plans and audits
…This report is additional busy-work that does not add any value to a company that is under Responsible Care or ISO14001. Perhaps allow companies that demonstrate one of these certifications to bypass this duplication step. Additionally, this regulation seems to duplicate the Source Separation regulation which essentially details what waste streams must have a source separation program for large manufacturing sites.”
