Events at Ontario agencies and attractions

The following Ontario tourism and cultural attractions have special events and programming planned in celebration of Canada Day on July 1, 2024.

Destination Ontario

Destination Ontario will share local municipal event and firework display information on their social media channels and website.

Fort William Historical Park

Fort William Historical Park encourages visitors to remember, learn and engage on Canada Day.

Explore the Anishinaabe Encampment and Fort William for a day filled with family-friendly activities that educate while celebrating Canada’s diverse heritage.

Niagara Parks

Fireworks display

Niagara Parks will host a special extended Canada Day fireworks display at 10 p.m., synced with music on Kiss 98.5 FM. The prime viewing spots will be:

  • Table Rock Welcome Centre
  • Queen Victoria Place
  • Grandview Marketplace

New this summer, you can also enjoy the fireworks from the:

  • newly renovated Table Rock Bistro + Wine Bar patio overlooking the Falls
  • viewing platform at the Niagara Parks Power Station and Tunnel

Niagara Parks Power Station and Tunnel

At the Niagara Parks Power Station and Tunnel, guests can enjoy all-new exclusive activities, including:

  • a bilingual audio tour
  • a Tesla coil demonstration
  • nighttime experiences

After dark, the Tunnel is transformed with state-of-the-art LED lighting, projected images, and immersive sound effects, leading to a unique observation platform for viewing the nightly illumination of the Falls and the fireworks.

Ottawa Convention Centre

Ottawa Convention Centre will be lit in red to celebrate Canada Day.

Royal Ontario Museum

Royal Ontario Museum will offer free admission on Canada Day.

Guests will receive access to the:

  • permanent galleries
  • special exhibition Quilts: Made in Canada

Enter through the Weston Entrance along Queen’s Park.

There may be wait times for entry due to the anticipated number of visitors expected and building capacity limits.

Please note, there is a fee for the special exhibitions Earth: An Immersive Journey and Wild Cats.

Science North

Science North will celebrate with a spectacular new addition: a dazzling drone show, offered in partnership with the City of Sudbury.

Come and celebrate the community and culture of all Canadians and Indigenous Peoples.

Experience the spectacular drone show, live entertainment and a variety of food vendors on the stunning natural rock stage.

In addition, admission to the science centre will be 50% off on July 1.
