National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

To mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, flags on all Ontario government buildings and establishments across the province will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, December 6, 2015.

Government of Ontario buildings that are closed for the weekend may lower flags at close of business on Friday, December 4, and remain at half-mast until business resumes Monday, December 7.

Remembrance Day

Flags at all Government of Ontario buildings and establishments across the province will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Remembrance Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015. When half-masting occurs at a place where remembrance is being observed, the half-masting can occur at 11:00 a.m. (or according to the prescribed order of service) until sunset.

To commemorate the anniversary of the tragic events that occurred in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, on October 20, 2014, and in Ottawa, Ontario, on October 22, 2014, flags at all Ontario government buildings and establishments across the province will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, October 22, 2015.

In observance of Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day, flags on all Ontario government buildings and establishments across the province will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, September 27, 2015.

Where buildings are closed for the weekend, flags may be lowered at close of business on Friday, September 25, and remain at half-mast until business resumes on Monday, September 28.

Flags at all Ontario government buildings and establishments in the City of Ottawa will be flown at half-mast from now until sunset on Sunday, August 2, 2015, the day of the memorial service for the late Honourable Flora Isabel MacDonald, P.C., C.C., O.Ont., O.N.S., who died on July 26, 2015.

Where buildings are closed for the long weekend, flags may be returned to full-mast when business resumes on Tuesday, August 4, 2015.

Flags on all Ontario government buildings and establishments in the City of Ottawa will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, March 14, 2015, the day of the funeral for Canadian Forces Sergeant Andrew Doiron, killed while on duty in Iraq on March 6, 2015.

Where buildings are closed for the weekend, flags may be lowered at close of business on Friday, March 13, and remain so until business resumes on Monday, March 16.
