Temporary physician fee codes for COVID-19 Assessment Centres will expire on June 30, 2023

Overview

Temporary fee codes H409 and H410 for insured services rendered by physicians at eligible COVID-19 Assessment Centres designated by the Ministry of Health will be ending effective June 30, 2023. This was previously communicated in INFOBulletin 230308.

Claims processing

Services provided up to and including March 31, 2023: physicians will have 6 months from the date of service to submit claims for H409 and or H410.

Services provided between April 1, 2023 and June 30, 2023: physicians will have 3 months from the date of service to submit claims for H409 and or H410.

Please note: this is consistent with the adjusted 3-month claims submission period implemented April 1, 2023. Please see INFOBulletin 230301 for further details.

Please note: Claims for H409 and or H410 with a service date after June 30, 2023 will reject to the error report with error code ‘A3E - ‘No such service code for date of service’.

Billing in COVID-19 Assessment Centres after June 30, 2023: Physicians who continue to provide care in COVID-19 Assessment Centres beyond June 30, 2023 may submit fee-for-service claims for insured services rendered using the appropriate fee codes listed in the Schedule of Benefits for Physician Services.
