A line of credit is not considered “cash” according to the Municipal Tax Sales Act.

The municipality makes no representation regarding the title to or any other matters relating to the land to be sold. Responsibility for ascertaining these matters rests with the potential purchasers.

This sale is governed by the Municipal Tax Sales Act being chapter M.60 of the Revised Statutes of Ontario 1990 and the Municipal Tax Sales Rules. The successful purchaser will be required to pay the amount bid plus accumulated taxes from the first day of advertising and the relevant land transfer tax and GST where applicable.
