Royal Assent

The Province Of Ontario

Toronto, Thursday, June 17, 2004

9:35 p.m.

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor of the Province entered the Chamber of the Legislative Assembly and took his seat upon the Throne.

The Speaker addressed His Honour as follows:-

“May it please Your Honour:

The Legislative Assembly of the Province has, at its present meetings thereof, passed certain bills to which, in the name and on behalf of the said Legislative Assembly, I respectfully request Your Honour’s as- sent.”

The Deputy Clerk and Executive Director of Legislative Services then read the titles of the bills that had passed as follows:-

“The following are the titles of the bills to which Your Honour’s assent is prayed:

Bill 8 An Act to establish the Ontario Health Quality Council, to enact new legislation concerning health service accessibility and repeal the Health Care Accessibility Act, to provide for accountability in the health service sector, and to amend the Health Insurance Act.
[S.O. 2004, Chapter 5]

Bill 49 An Act to prevent the disposal of waste at the Adams Mine site and to amend the Environmental Protection Act in re- spect of the disposal of waste in lakes.
[S.O. 2004, Chapter 6]

Bill 83 An Act to implement Budget measures. [S.O. 2004, Chapter 7]

Bill 94 An Act respecting public accounting. [S.O. 2004, Chapter 8]”

To these Acts the Royal Assent was announced by the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly in the following words:-

“In Her Majesty’s name, His Honour the Lieutenant Governor doth assent to these bills.”

His Honour was then pleased to retire.
