Ontario Highway Transport Board

Periodically, temporary applications are filed with the Board. Details of these applications can be made available at anytime to any interested parties by calling (416) 326-6732.

The following are applications for extra-provincial and public vehicle operating licenses filed under the Motor Vehicle Transport Act, 1987, and the Public Vehicles Act. All information pertaining to the applicant i.e. business plan, supporting evidence, etc. is on file at the Board and is available upon request.

Any interested person who has an economic interest in the outcome of these applications may serve and file an objection within 29 days of this publication. The objector shall:

  1. complete a Notice of Objection Form,
  2. serve the applicant with the objection,
  3. file a copy of the objection and provide proof of service of the objection on the applicant with the Board,
  4. pay the appropriate fee.

Serving and filing an objection may be by hand delivery, mail, courier or facsimile. Serving means the date received by a party and filing means the date received by the Board.

For the transportation of passengers on a chartered trip from points in the United States of America from the Ontario/U.S.A. border crossings to points in Ontario and for the return of the same passengers on the same chartered trip to point of origin.

Provided That there be no pick-up or discharge of passengers except at the point of origin.

The Towns of Huntsville, Bracebridge, and Gravenhurst and a place known as Washago in the Township of Ramara, on the one hand, and Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Georgian College and Lakehead University in the City of Orillia, and Royal Victoria Hospital and Georgian College both in the City of Barrie, on the other hand, via Highways 11, 12, 400 and Simcoe Country Road 11.

For the transportation of passengers and express freight on a scheduled service:

  1. between the Cities of Barrie and Orillia and the Township of Ramara, via Highways 400, 11 and 12 and Simcoe Roads 11 and 44;
  2. between the Town of Penetanguishene and the City of Barrie, via Simcoe Roads 27 and 93 and Highway 93. Alternate Route: between a place known as Waverly and the City of Barrie, via Highways 93 and 400; and
  3. between the Towns of Penetanguishene and Midland, Wyebridge, Waverly, Orr Lake, Hillsdale, Horseshoe Valley, Mt. St. Louis and the City of Barrie, via Simcoe Roads 22 and 93 and Highways 93 and 400.

For the transportation of passengers on a chartered trip from points in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Provided That chartered trips in Class “A” public vehicles as defined in paragraph (a) (i) of subsection 1 of Section 7 of Regulation 982 under the Public Vehicles Act, Rso 1990, Chapter P. 54, will be to Casino Rama only

For the transportation of passengers for Prairie Coach Tours on a chartered trip from the Cities of Kenora and Dryden, Ontario to the Ontario/ U.S.A. and Ontario/Manitoba border crossings for furtherance to points as authorized by the relevant jurisdiction and for the return of the same passengers on the same chartered trip to point of origin.

Provided That:

  1. there shall be no pick-up or discharge of passengers except at point of origin;
  2. chartered trips other than those authorized herein are prohibited; and
  3. all chartered trips operated under this licence shall be those initiated, organized and advertised by Prairie Coach Tours.
