Amendments to National Instrument 31-103 Registration Requirements, Exemptions and Ongoing Registrant Obligations and Consequential Amendments

On December 31, 2019, amendments to the following rule came into force under the Securities Act:

  • National Instrument 31-103 Registration Requirements, Exemptions and Ongoing Registrant Obligations (NI 31-103).

NI 31-103 was amended to make changes to the registrant conduct requirements in order to better align the interests of securities advisers, dealers and representatives (registrants) with the interests of their clients, improve outcomes for clients, and make clearer to clients the nature and the terms of their relationship with registrants.
