notice of intention to apply for an order to close a cemetery (columbarium)

St. Richards Memorial Wall Columbarium, 8 Withrow Ave, Nepean Ontario Canada, as described on the MPAC Assessment as PLAN 375 lot 128 to 145 plan 375 lot 371 to 380

In the City of Ottawa, Province of Ontario. Ontario Cemetery (License # CM-05069).

This interior Columbarium consists of three hundred and twenty (320) single niches. One hundred and seventy-one (171) niches are sold with one hundred and ten (110) inurnments.

The interment rights holders have been notified in writing to the last known address, by a notification in the Anglican Crosstalk Newsletter, by a large sign on the property, and by a notification published on two dates in the Ottawa Citizen Newspaper. The Columbarium and remains are to be moved to the St. John Anglican Cemetery Columbarium located at 1876 Merivale Road (License # CM-02935) and to the Christ Church Cathedral Columbarium located at 414 Sparks Street in the City of Ottawa (License # CM-05105).

This closure is proposed because Julian of Norwich Anglican Church will be redeveloped to accommodate an affordable housing community along with a contemporary facility to accommodate a wide range of community programs and worship for the public good. There are no ground burials or scattering gardens associated with St. Richards Memorial Wall Columbarium.

take notice that, pursuant to Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002, SO 2002, c 33, the undersigned intends to make an application for an order closing the cemetery Columbarium.

take further notice that, the applicant will request that the Registrar include in the Order to Close, the requirement to move the Columbarium and all remains to the above noted locations or as directed by next of kin. This will include the transfer of all records and care and maintenance funds to St. Johns Anglican Cemetery or the Christ Church Cathedral Columbarium.
