Memo to:

Regional Managers

From:

Doug Aron
Examiner of Surveys

Contents of the memo:

The Regional Surveyors are infrequently requested to process orders to correct plans within the Land Registration System. The current fee for such an Order is $50.00. Other than this fee, the Regional Surveyors are not required to handle any cash transactions.

In order for the Regional Surveyors to continue handling cash transactions, a change to the RIMS is required to provide a recording/reporting mechanism. However, given the infrequency of the transactions I am proposing an alternative.

As agreed at our Branch Manager’s meeting on September 6th 1995, the Regional Surveyors are to process the Plan Correction Order and forward same to the appropriate Land Registrar along with the $50.00 cheque. The Land Registrar would register the Plan Correction Order and process the cheque through the normal banking procedures. The money is recorded in RIMS and the need to alter the RIMS program to accommodate the Regional Surveyors handling money is negated.

By a copy of this memorandum to the Regional Surveyors, they are requested to follow the instructions in the paragraph above concerning the disposition of the Plan Correction Orders and accompanying fees.
