Connecting Care Act, 2019

ONTARIO REGULATION 246/24

THE SERVICE ORGANIZATION

Consolidation Period: From June 11, 2024 to the e-Laws currency date.

Note: THIS REGULATION IS NOT YET IN FORCE. It comes into force on June 28, 2024, the day subsection 1 (1) of the Convenient Care at Home Act, 2023 comes into force.

No amendments.

Deeming, subs. 1 (3) of the Act

1. For the purposes of subsection 1 (3) of the Act, the Service Organization is deemed not to be a health service provider or to have been funded by the Agency under section 21 of the Act for the purposes of the following:

1. Sections 35, 39 and 40 of the Act.

2. Sections 29 and 29.1 and subsection 33 (5) of Ontario Regulation 187/22 (Home and Community Care Services) made under the Act.

3. Paragraph 4 of subsection 3 (2) of Ontario Regulation 211/21 (Engagement with the Francophone Community Under Section 44 of the Act), made under the Act.

4. The Excellent Care for All Act, 2010, except for subsection 13.8 (5).

5. Ontario Regulation 236/16 (Definitions), made under the Excellent Care for All Act, 2010.

6. The Health Protection and Promotion Act.

7. The Public Sector Labour Relations Transition Act, 1997.

8. The Simpler, Faster, Better Services Act, 2019.

Board of directors

2. For the purposes of subsection 27.9 (4) of the Act, each member of the board of directors of the Service Organization shall hold office for a term of up to three years at the pleasure of the Minister and may be reappointed for any number of terms of up to three years.

Transition, chief executive officer

3. The appointment of the chief executive officer by each local health integration network under subsection 10 (1) of the Local Health System Integration Act, 2006 that was in effect immediately before the repeal of that Act shall continue until such time as the Service Organization appoints a chief executive officer under subsection 27.11 (1) of the Connecting Care Act, 2019.

4. Omitted (provides for coming into force of provisions of this Regulation ).
