ONTARIO REGULATION 402/96

INSURANCE CARD

This Regulation is made in English only.

1. (1) The following documents are prescribed for the purpose of the definition of “insurance card” in section 1 of the Act:

1. In the case of a motor vehicle insured under a motor vehicle liability policy issued in another province or territory of Canada, a motor vehicle liability insurance card issued by the insurer.

2. In the case of a motor vehicle insured under a motor vehicle liability policy issued in a jurisdiction of the United States of America, a document issued by the insurer or by the government of the jurisdiction indicating that the motor vehicle is insured in accordance with the laws of that jurisdiction. (2) In subsection (1),

“motor vehicle liability policy” has the same meaning as in the Insurance Act. O. Reg. 402/96, s. 1 (2).
