TITLE INSURANCE LICENCES

Limitation and condition

1. A licence issued to an insurer to undertake title insurance in Ontario is subject to the limitation and condition that no policy of title insurance shall be issued unless the insurer has first obtained a concurrent certificate of title to the property to be insured from a solicitor then entitled to practise in Ontario and who is not at that time in the employ of the insurer.

Commencement

2. This Regulation comes into force on the later of the following dates:

1. The date sections 6 and 13 of Schedule 20 to the Budget Measures Act (Fall), 2004 come into force.

2. The date this Regulation is filed.
