Amending O. Reg. 242/08

(General)

1. Ontario Regulation 242/08 is amended by adding the following section:

Lake Sturgeon

5.1 (1) Clause 9 (1) (b) of the Act does not apply with respect to any of the following if the fish was caught before September 10, 2009 by a person who was fishing under the authority of and in accordance with a commercial fishing licence under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997 or a licence under the Aboriginal Communal Fishing Licences Regulations made under the Fisheries Act (Canada):

1. A dead Lake Sturgeon (Great Lakes - Upper St. Lawrence River population) or a dead Lake Sturgeon (Northwestern Ontario population).

2. Any part of a Lake Sturgeon (Great Lakes - Upper St. Lawrence River population) or a Lake Sturgeon (Northwestern Ontario population).

3. Anything derived from a Lake Sturgeon (Great Lakes - Upper St. Lawrence River population) or a Lake Sturgeon (Northwestern Ontario population).

(2) This section is revoked on January 1, 2011.

2. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
