Amending O. Reg. 207/96

(OUTDOOR FIRES)

1. (1) Item 5 in Column 2 of the Table to section 18 of Ontario Regulation 207/96, set out opposite “High fire risk operations” in Column 1 of the Table, is revoked.

(2) Item 6 in Column 3 of the Table to section 18 of the Regulation, set out opposite “High fire risk operations” in Column 1 of the Table, is revoked.

(3) Column 2 of the Table to section 18 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following item opposite “Moderate fire risk operations” in Column 1 of the Table:

7. Induced polarization surveys using a power generator.

(4) Column 3 of the Table to section 18 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following item opposite “Moderate fire risk operations” in Column 1 of the Table:

8. Induced polarization surveys using a power generator.

(5) Column 2 of the Table to section 18 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following item opposite “Low fire risk operations” in Column 1 of the Table:

14. Induced polarization surveys using a battery.

15. Electromagnetic surveys using either a power generator or battery.

(6) Column 3 of the Table to section 18 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following item opposite “Low fire risk operations” in Column 1 of the Table:

2. Paragraph 4 of subsection 19 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “any fires that may occur are immediately reported to the Ministry” at the end and substituting “any fire that may occur and is not kept under control is immediately reported to the Ministry”.

3. Subsection 20 (3) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “dated September 20, 2015” and substituting “dated February, 2018”.

4. Subsection 21 (3) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “dated September 20, 2015” and substituting “dated February, 2018”.

5. Subparagraph 2 iii of subsection 22 (3) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “dated September 20, 2015” and substituting “dated February, 2018”.

6. Subsection 23 (8) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:

(8) Workers engaged in patrolling a worksite under subsection (6) or (7) shall ensure that any fire that is discovered and is not kept under control is immediately reported to the Ministry.

Commencement

7. This Regulation comes into force on the later of April 1, 2018 and the day it is filed.
