Amending Reg. 552 of R.R.O. 1990

(GENERAL)

1. Section 1.2 of Regulation 552 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is amended by adding “or (3)” after “subsection 1.3 (2)”.

2. (1) Subsection 1.3 (1) of the Regulation is amended by adding “or (3)” after “subsection (2)” in the portion before paragraph 1.

(2) Section 1.3 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subsection:

(3) Persons who have been granted an emergency authorization to enter into and remain in Canada for humanitarian reasons are residents for the duration of that authorization or any subsequent authorizations issued for the same purpose and they are not affected by any of the other rules in this Regulation regarding recognition as a resident, other than the requirements under paragraphs 1 and 3 of subsection 1.5 (1) and under sections 3 and 4.

Commencement

3. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
