Use of Doctor Title

Definition

1. In this Regulation,

“out of province physician” means a person who is exempted from subsections 9 (1) and (3) of the Medicine Act, 1991 by a regulation made under that Act.

Use of “doctor” title

2. (1) Despite subsection 33 (1) of the Act, an out of province physician may use the title “doctor”, a variation or abbreviation or an equivalent in another language in the course of providing or offering to provide, in Ontario, health care to individuals.

(2) In this section,

“abbreviation” includes an abbreviation of a variation.

Commencement

3. This Regulation comes into force on the later of the day section 1 of Schedule 2 to the Your Health Act, 2023 comes into force and the day this Regulation is filed.
