Amending O. Reg. 349/98

(WORK PERMIT - DISRUPTIVE MINERAL EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES)

1. The definition of “disruptive mineral exploration activities” in section 1 of Ontario Regulation 349/98 is amended by,

(a)  striking out “(except where required for staking a claim)”; and

(b)  striking out “diamond drilling” and substituting “mechanical drilling”.

2. Section 3 of the Regulation is amended by striking out “diamond drilling” wherever it appears and substituting in each case “mechanical drilling”.

3. Clause 4 (1) (b) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “Director of Mine Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines” at the end and substituting “Minister of Mines”.

4. The Schedule to the Regulation is amended by striking out “Mining Lands Section of the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines” wherever it appears and substituting in each case “Provincial Recording Office of the Ministry of Mines”.

Commencement

5. (1) Except as otherwise provided in this section, this Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.

(2) Section 3 comes into force on the later of the day subsection 1 (1) of the Building More Mines Act, 2023 comes into force and the day this Regulation is filed.
