Amending Reg. 569 of R.R.O. 1990

(REPORTS)

1. Paragraph 11 of section 5 of Regulation 569 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is amended by striking out the portion before subparagraph i and substituting the following:

11. Diseases caused by a novel coronavirus, including Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS):

2. Section 5.4 of the Regulation is revoked.

3. Section 6 of the Regulation is amended by striking out “or section 5.4 of this Regulation”.

4. The Regulation is amended by adding the following section:

6.1 (1) Despite section 6, if a report mentioned in that section relates to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a medical officer of health who receives the report shall comply with section 6 in respect of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) only if the report,

(a) is made under section 25 or 26 of the Act and is required to contain information described in paragraph 12 of section 5 of this Regulation; or

(b) is made under section 30 of the Act.

(2) In the case of a report mentioned in clause (1) (a), a medical officer of health is not required to forward the information required under subsection 1 (1) in respect of a report as it relates to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Commencement

5. This Regulation comes into force on the later of July 1, 2024 and the day this Regulation is filed.
