Amending Reg. 23 of R.R.O. 1990

(Pounds)

1. Subsections  15 (2) and (3) of Regulation 23 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 are revoked and the following substituted:

(2) In any pound, the carcass of an animal shall be,

(a) forthwith removed from its cage or pen; and

(b) except for the whole or a part of the carcass that is retained in a sanitary manner for research, forthwith disposed of by,

(i) burying it with a covering of at least two feet of earth,

(ii) incineration, or

(iii) delivery to a disposal facility as defined in Ontario Regulation 105/09 (Disposal of Deadstock) made under the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2001.

2. This Regulation comes into force on the later of March 27, 2009 and the day this Regulation is filed.
