Amending O. Reg. 67/93

(HEALTH CARE AND RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES)

1. Subsection 68 (6) of Ontario Regulation 67/93 is revoked and the following substituted:

(6) Subsections (4) and (5) do not apply to troubleshooting, installing or replacing meters or to the testing of appliances or instruments by,

(a) a worker who holds a certificate of qualification issued under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, that is not suspended, in the trade of,

(i) electrician — construction and maintenance, or

(ii) electrician — domestic and rural, if the worker is performing work that is limited to the scope of practice for that trade; or

(b) a person with equivalent qualifications by training or experience. 

2. Clause 72 (2) (b) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:

(b) if the person who is responsible for bringing the object within the minimum distance is using procedures adequate to ensure protection from electrical shock and burns and is,

(i) a worker who holds a certificate of qualification issued under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, that is not suspended, in the trade of,

(A) electrician — construction and maintenance, or

(B) electrician — domestic and rural, if the worker is performing work that is limited to the scope of practice for that trade, or

(ii) a person with equivalent qualifications by training or experience.

Commencement

3. This Regulation comes into force on the later of the day section 103 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 comes into force and the day it is filed.
