Amending O. Reg. 17/05

(GENERAL)

1. Clause (b) of the definition of “financial institution” in subsection 25.1 (2) of Ontario Regulation 17/05 is revoked and the following substituted:

(b)  a credit union or central within the meaning of the Credit Unions and Caisses Populaires Act, 2020, or

2. Section 88 of the Regulation is amended by striking out “the Payday Loans Act, 2008 or the Wireless Services Agreements Act, 2013” in the portion before paragraph 1 and substituting “or the Payday Loans Act, 2008”.

3. Section 89 of the Regulation is amended by striking out “the Payday Loans Act, 2008 or the Wireless Services Agreements Act, 2013” in the portion before paragraph 1 and substituting “or the Payday Loans Act, 2008”.

4. Subsection 90 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “the Payday Loans Act, 2008 or the Wireless Services Agreements Act, 2013” in the portion before paragraph 1 and substituting “or the Payday Loans Act, 2008”.

Commencement

5. This Regulation comes into force on the later of the day section 1 of Schedule 7 (Credit Unions and Caisses Populaires Act, 2020) to the Protect, Support and Recover from COVID-19 Act (Budget Measures), 2020 comes into force and the day this Regulation is filed.
