EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Bill proclaims the week commencing on the first Monday in May in each year as Correctional Services Staff Recognition Week.

 

 

Chapter 9

An Act to proclaim Correctional Services Staff Recognition Week

Assented to June 9, 2016

Preamble

Correctional services staff are men and women who are engaged in the provision of correctional services both in the institution and in the community. Correctional services staff dedicate their lives to protecting the public with skill and professionalism. They work hard to keep communities safe. Their public service deserves to be recognized and honoured.

Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

Correctional Services Staff Recognition Week

1. The week commencing on the first Monday in May in each year is proclaimed as Correctional Services Staff Recognition Week.

Commencement

2. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3. The short title of this Act is the Correctional Services Staff Recognition Week Act, 2016.
