Order in Council 1089/2021

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas subsection 89(1) of the Courts of Justice Act authorizes the appointment of a Children’s Lawyer for Ontario by the Lieutenant Governor in Council;

And whereas, by Order in Council O.C. 1759/2016 effective November 16, 2016, Marian Jacko of Mississauga was appointed as the Children’s Lawyer for Ontario to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council;

And whereas Marian Jacko will be temporarily unable to act in that position;

Now therefore, pursuant to subsection 89(1) of the Courts of Justice Act,

be temporarily appointed as Children’s Lawyer for Ontario, to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council effective the date of this Order in Council for a period ending on the earlier of August 5, 2022 or the effective date of the revocation of this Order in Council.
