Order in Council 202/2024

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas, Chad Michael Evans has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission,

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 21.1(3) of the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter O.32, Chad Michael Evans is hereby entitled to the following as remuneration and benefits during the term of his appointment:

1. A base salary of $ 266,800 per annum, less applicable deductions.
2. Effective from the 2024-2025 performance year, eligibility for annual pay for performance, as per the structure set out in the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission Executive Compensation Program, whereby an amount of up to $23,200 is paid only where performance commitments are met and subject to any statutory requirements or limitations.
3. Eligibility for participation in all applicable benefits programs that the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission provides to its non-union employees.
4. Reimbursement for necessary expenses incurred in assuming and performing the duties of Chief Executive Officer, in accordance with all applicable Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet directives, guidelines and policies.
5. In the event of early termination for any reason other than for cause, entitlement to a severance payment subject to the requirements under the Broader Public Sector Executive Compensation Act, 2014.

Further, except as specified in this Order, Chad Michael Evans is not entitled to or eligible for any other payments whatsoever (p. ex., bonuses, merit increases, salary adjustments, incentive payments, severance or termination payments) from Ontario Northland Transportation Commission in respect of his appointment as Chief Executive Officer.

Further, Order in Council O.C. 169/2023 is hereby revoked.

And further, this Order comes into effect the later of February 9, 2024 and the date this Order is made.
