Order in Council 2460/2017

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas Sandra Shime was appointed as full-time vice-chair of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal by Order in Council O.C. 2420/2017 dated December 14, 2017;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 173(2) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997,

During the term of her appointment, Sandra Shime shall be paid an annual rate of remuneration of $143,583, which rate is subject to an adjustment in the same manner and concurrently with an adjustment, if any, which is effective on or after January 1, 2018, to the rates set out in Schedule 2 of Order in Council O.C. 2310/2017;

Further, Sandra Shime shall be eligible for benefits, including vacation, comparable to the benefit entitlements of OPS executives in the Senior Management Group;

Further, Sandra Shime may elect to participate in the Public Service Pension Plan in accordance with the provisions of the Plan;

Further, Sandra Shime shall be reimbursed for reasonable work-related expenses while engaged in the business of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal in accordance with the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and any other TB/MBC directives;

And further, this Order in Council comes into effect on the same day as Order in Council O.C. 2420/2017 comes into effect.
