Order in Council 582/2023

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Pursuant to subsections 42(4) and (5) of the Courts of Justice Act, O.C. 631/2019 dated April 18, 2019 appointing the Honourable Justice Sharon Margaret Nicklas as Associate Chief Justice – Co-ordinator of Justices of the Peace of the Ontario Court of Justice be revoked, effective the last instant of May 31, 2023.

And further, that pursuant to subsection 42(3) of the Courts of Justice Act, the Honourable Justice Sharon Margaret Nicklas be appointed Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice for a fixed term of eight years, effective the first instant of June 1, 2023.
