This hospital is 680,000 square-feet and will bring better care to people in downtown Toronto.
This project is providing rehabilitation services and care for complex chronic diseases and patients who have two or more chronic illnesses, including diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
The new state-of-the art facility includes:
- new, improved measures to prevent and control infection after surgery
- larger rooms for specialized wheelchairs and the full turning of beds
- more space for therapy
- gyms, dining and activity rooms conveniently located on each patient floor for easy access
- outdoor patios, gardens and paths designed to promote health and well-being
This facility will help staff to provide an even higher quality of care for patients and supports and inspires improved mobility and recovery. Finally, the campus is revitalizing a portion of Toronto’s Riverdale neighbourhood with new green space, including renovations to the historic Don Jail.
