Particulars of a Revocation of Registration

s. 49 (1) Private Career Colleges Act, 2005 (“Act”)

These particulars are posted following the expiry of the 15-day period for E-Zee Truck Training School Inc. (the “School”) to request a hearing of the Licence Appeal Tribunal under s.19 (3) of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005 (the Act).

On April 27, 2023, the Superintendent issued a Notice of Proposal to Revoke Registration to the School. The School did not file a notice to the Licence Appeal Tribunal within the 15-day period. The proposal to revoke the registration of the School was therefore carried out on May 13, 2023, pursuant to s. 19 (4) of the Act.

Reasons for decision

The Superintendent has revoked the School’s registration for the following reasons:

The School no longer met the requirements of subsection 14 (1) of the Act, providing grounds to revoke the registration pursuant to subsection 18 (2) (a) of the Act. Specifically:

  • The School obstructed and failed to assist a Designate of the Superintendent as he was attempting to conduct inquiries into their operation as a school, contraventions under subsections 38 (6) and 38 (10) of the Act.
  • The School failed to answer questions about inconsistencies found in the reporting of student attendance.
  • The School awarded a program completion certificate to a student that they did not train
  • The School knowingly attempted to mislead a designate of the Superintendent, and thus, demonstrated an inability to operate a private career college in accordance with the law and with honesty and integrity.

Furthermore, by contravening subsections 38 (6) and 38 (10) of the Act, the School failed to comply with a provision of the Act, providing grounds for the Superintendent to revoke their registration pursuant to subsection 18 (2) (c) of the Act.
