Extension of Exemption Order MNR-62: Wildlife Rabies Control Program
This notice extends the exemption of Ontario’s Wildlife Rabies Control Program from the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act until November 29, 2025.
RE: The carrying out of the Wildlife Rabies Control Program to control and seek to eliminate rabies from wildlife in Ontario, through the vaccination of wildlife species that spread the disease.

Condition 4 of Exemption Order MNR-62 for the above undertaking, which was published as Ontario Regulation 520/95, provides that the exemption order expires ten years from the date of the approval of the order, or on such later date as is determined by the Minister of the Environment and Energy and published in The Ontario Gazette. In 2005, the Minister of the Environment extended the exemption order’s expiration date to November 29, 2015.
TAKE NOTICE that, in accordance with Condition 4, Exemption Order MNR-62 is hereby extended to November 29, 2025.
At that time, the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change may decide to further extend Exemption Order MNR-62 to a later date, in accordance with Condition 4.
All other terms and conditions remain the same.
