Performance and training standards for the operation of career colleges and delivery of vocational programs in Ontario.
Overview
The Superintendent of Career Colleges issues policy directives under the legal authority established in s.53 of the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Policy directives are legally binding documents and set out specific performance requirements and exemptions that the superintendent has established for career colleges. Below are the policy directives that are currently in force:
Standards for programs
Policy directives
Policy directives establish program standards that must be met for these vocational training programs:
- Career college programs that require regulator approval or accreditation
- Class A commercial truck driver training
- developmental services worker
- esthetician
- hairstylist
- online or hybrid training delivery
- personal support worker
- security guard or private investigator
- teaching english as a second language
Vocational training standards

Exemptions
Policy directives that establish exemptions from the oversight of the Superintendent of Career Colleges:
