Public appointments: create your account
Any Ontario resident can be a public appointee. Find out how to create a public appointments account, express interest in agencies and apply for current advertisements.
Apply online
To apply for advertised appointments:
- register for a public appointments account
- complete your profile
- apply for advertised positions
Creating an online account is useful and allows government ministries to see your profile as they look for suitable candidates for available positions. Once your public appointments account is set up, you can also:
- express interest in agencies and sectors of your choice
- sign up to receive email alerts when advertisements are posted
- view your application history
- adjust your profile visibility to all ministries, or restrict it to only your agencies of choice
- change your preferences at any time
You can also apply for advertised positions as a guest using a valid email address.
Apply by mail
Although we recommend applying online, you can also apply by mail.
To apply for a public appointment by mail:
- download the application form
- complete, sign and send your application form to:
Public Appointments Secretariat
Room 2440, Whitney Block
99 Wellesley Street West
Toronto, Ontario M7A 1W4
Your application will remain on file for three years.
The Public Appointments Secretariat will only consider information on the application form.
Note: Please do not attach a separate resume or submit any other supporting materials.
