Complete 2013
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is located in the heart of downtown Toronto, at the base of the CN Tower.
Ontario’s investment of $10 million is in addition to the $130 million investment by the Pattison Group -- the largest private sector investment in tourism since the late 1970's.
The Aquarium opened in October 2013 and it is expected to draw close to 2 million visitors annually. The Aquarium is the first of its kind in Canada and features more than 5.7 million litres (1.5 million gallons) of water depicting marine and freshwater habitats from around the world. In addition, the Aquarium intends to raise environmental awareness of the importance of our waterways and marine life, and will provide educational opportunities for students, residents and tourists.
