Every 3 months, we update details such as:

  • participation and unemployment rates for rural and urban areas
  • size of the labour force for rural and urban areas
  • employment numbers by industry for rural and urban areas

We do comparisons using annual data and year-to-date results from monthly labour force estimates. This captures changes over time across rural and urban areas.

Data is from 2011 up to the most recent year-to-date period available, based on monthly estimates.

Quarterly housing starts data for rural areas

Housing starts information is available on a quarterly basis, covering the period from the most recent census to the current year-to-date quarter.
