Sales licences
Licence (regular sales)
A licence is required to carry out the community sales of consigned livestock in Ontario.
Apply for a Regular Sales Licence (Livestock Community Sales Act and Regulation 729).

Licence (special sales)
A licence is required to carry out the community sales of consigned livestock in Ontario. This applies to an operator licensed for Class 1 or Class 2 community sales to hold an extra community sale not authorized by the licence for Class 1 or Class 2 community sales.

Certificate to act as an examiner
For non-emergency on-farm slaughter, a certificate is required to provide stunning, slaughter and dressing services, perform ante-mortem and post-mortem examinations and ensure humane animal handling and sanitary dressing.

Licence to sell livestock medicines
A licence is required to sell livestock medicines to owners of livestock or to another person acting on the owner’s behalf for the treatment of the owner’s livestock under the Animal Health Act, 2009 and the Licences to Sell Livestock Medicines Regulation.
