Section 21 committee
The ministry benefits from the input of the Mining Legislative Review Committee (MLRC), one of a number of MOL partnerships. This committee is established under section 21 of the OHSA to provide advice to the Minister of Labour on occupational health and safety in the mining sector.
Meeting regularly, the committee:
- provides a forum for dialogue by industry management and labour on safety issues and
- submits joint recommendations to the Ontario labour minister for improvements.
