Royal Assent

The Province Of Ontario

Toronto, Thursday, December 15, 2005, 4:35 p.m.

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor of the Province entered the Chamber of the Legislative Assembly and took his seat upon the Throne.

The Speaker addressed His Honour as follows:-

“May it please Your Honour:

The Legislative Assembly of the Province has, at its present meetings thereof, passed certain bills to which, in the name and on behalf of the said Legislative Assembly, I respectfully request Your Honour’s assent.”

The Deputy Clerk and Executive Director of Legislative Services then read the titles of the bills that had passed as follows:-

“The following are the titles of the bills to which Your Honour’s assent is prayed:

Bill 16 An Act respecting the Duffins Rouge Agricultural Preserve.
[S.O. 2005, Chapter 30]

Bill 18 An Act to implement 2005 Budget measures and amend various Acts.
[S.O. 2005, Chapter 31]

Bill 58 An Act to amend the Safe Streets Act, 1999 and the Highway Traffic Act to recognize the fund-raising activities of registered charities.
[S.O. 2005, Chapter 32]

Bill 128 An Act to amend various Acts with respect to enforcement powers, penalties and the management of property forfeited, or that may be forfeited, to the Crown in right of Ontario as a result of organized crime, marijuana growing and other unlawful activities.
[S.O. 2005, Chapter 33]

Bill 159 An Act to revise the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act and to make a consequential amendment to the Licence Appeal Tribunal Act, 1999.

Bill 214 An Act to amend the Election Act, the Election Finances Act and the Legislative Assembly Act, to repeal the Representation Act, 1996 and to enact the Representation Act, 2005.

Bill Pr23 An Act to revive Sidoff’s Cleaners & Tailors Limited.

To these Acts the Royal Assent was announced by the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly in the following words:-

“In Her Majesty’s name, His Honour the Lieutenant Governor doth assent to these bills.”

His Honour was then pleased to retire.
