Government Notices Respecting Corporations
Notice of Default in Complying with the Corporations Tax Act
The Director has been notified by the Minister of Finance that the following corporations are in default in complying with the Corporations Tax Act.
Notice Is Hereby Given under subsection 241(1) of the Business Corporations Act, that unless the corporations listed hereunder comply with the requirements of the Corporations Tax Act within 90 days of this notice, orders will be made dissolving the defaulting corporations. All enquiries concerning this notice are to be directed to Ministry of Finance, Corporations Tax, 33 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario L1H 8H6.

Amendments To National Instrument 21-101 Marketplace Operation And National Instrument 23-101 Trading Rules
On September 12, 2008, amendments to the following rules came into force under the Securities Act:
- National Instrument 21-101 Marketplace Operation (NI 21-101); and
- National Instrument 23-101 Trading Rules (NI 23-101) (together, the ATS Rules).
The key aspect of the amendments makes changes to the best execution obligation of dealers and advisers.

Order in Council
Whereas subsection 2(2) of the Executive Council Act, R.S.O 1990, Chapter E.25, provides that the Lieutenant Governor may by order in council prescribe the duties of the ministers of the Crown and the duties of any ministries over which they preside;
And Whereas subsection 5(1) of the Executive Council Act provides that any of the powers and duties that have been assigned by law to any minister of the Crown may from time to time by order in council be assigned and transferred for a limited period or otherwise to any other minister by name or otherwise;
Therefore, pursuant to subsections 2(2) and 5(1) of the Executive Council Act, despite any provision of a statute or Order in Council, the administration of each statute listed in Column 2 of the Schedule to this Order is hereby assigned to the Minister listed opposite that statute in Column 3 of the Schedule;

Order in Council
Whereas pursuant to subsection 2(1) of the Executive Council Act, R.S.O 1990, c. E.25, a member of the Executive Council has been appointed under the Great Seal to hold office as the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure;
Therefore, Pursuant To subsections 2(2), 5(1) and 8(1) of the Executive Council Act:
Minister to preside over Ministry
- The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure (the “Minister”) shall preside over a ministry known as the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (the “Ministry”).
Minister
- The Minister shall exercise the powers and perform the duties, functions and responsibilities that are assigned by law to the Minister or that may otherwise be assigned to or undertaken by the Minister in respect of energy, infrastructure and any other matters related to the Minister’s portfolio.
- The Minister shall exercise the powers and perform the duties, functions and responsibilities that were previously exercised and performed by the following ministers:
- the Minister of Energy, including the powers, duties, functions and responsibilities that were previously assigned to the Minister of Energy under Order in Council O.C. 1691/2003 dated November 19, 2003, as revised by Order in Council O.C. 2355/2006 dated November 22, 2006, except for those powers and duties of the Minister of Energy under sections 8 and 9 of the Ministry of Energy Act, R.S.O 1990, c. M. 23, insofar as the powers and duties set out in those sections are required to develop and administer the Ontario Ethanol Growth Fund program, that were transferred to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs under Order in Council O.C. 1477/2005, dated September 21, 2005; and
- the Minister of Public Infrastructure Renewal, including the powers, duties, functions and responsibilities that were previously assigned to the Minister of Public Infrastructure Renewal under Order in Council O.C. 1487/2005 dated September 21, 2005, as revised by Order in Council O.C. 2355/2006 dated November 22, 2006, except for the powers, duties, functions and responsibilities under the Liquor Control Act, R.S.O 1990, c. L. 18, assigned to the Minister of Finance, and such powers, duties, functions and responsibilities are assigned and transferred accordingly.
