- Ontario Birds at Risk (OBAR) a program started in 1994 to build upon work which began with the Atlas of the Breeding Birds of Ontario (1981- 1985) and the Ontario Rare Breeding Bird Program (1989-1993). The goal of OBAR is to work towards the protection and recovery of vulnerable, threatened and endangered (VTE) and other bird species at risk in Ontario. Target list is derived from COSEWIC, COSSARO lists and recommendations from the OBAR Advisory Committee.
