The long-standing service recognition certificate

The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing provides a signed certificate to recognize municipal elected officials who have served for at least 25 years.

Eligibility

The person you are nominating:

  • must have a minimum of 25 years of service as a municipal elected official
  • must be a member of council during the year of nomination
  • may have served in more than one municipality
  • may have a break in service – years of service do not have to be consecutive

We will review the submissions and contact the nominator within 45 days.
