Division into geographic areas
1. Ontario is divided into the geographic areas named and described in Schedules 1 and 2. O. Reg. 180/03, s. 1.
Deeming provision re: single-tier municipalities
2. For the purpose of any Act or regulation, unless otherwise provided in the Act or regulation, a single-tier municipality that is within a geographic area described in Schedule 1 is, for geographic purposes, deemed to be within the upper-tier municipality that is within the same geographic area. O. Reg. 180/03, s. 2.
Counties
3. Unless otherwise provided, for the purpose of any Act or regulation that refers to a county named in Column 1 of Schedule 3, the county consists of the geographic area of the municipalities set out in Column 2 of Schedule 3 opposite the name of the county. O. Reg. 180/03, s. 3.
French Language Services Act
4. Nothing in this Regulation affects the geographic areas to which the Schedule to the French Language Services Act applies on the day this Regulation comes into force. O. Reg. 180/03, s. 4.
Pay Equity Act
5. Geographic areas mentioned in Schedules 1 and 2 are prescribed as geographic areas to which the definition of “geographic division” in subsection 1 (1) of the Pay Equity Act applies, except,
(a) Leeds and Grenville, Prescott and Russell, and Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry are not geographic areas that fall within that definition; and
(b) the counties mentioned in Column 1 of Schedule 3 are geographic areas that fall within that definition. O. Reg. 180/03, s. 5.
