Small business programs

Maximum amount to be spent

1. The maximum amount that may be spent by a municipality under a program referred to in subsection 108 (2) of the Act is $5 per person based on the latest enumeration made by the assessment corporation under the Assessment Act.

Definition

2. For the purpose of section 108 of the Act,

“small business” means a business that has less than 100 employees.

City of Hamilton

3. Despite section 1, the maximum amount that may be spent by the City of Hamilton under the program authorized by Order in Council 2292/89 dated September 29, 1989 is $10 per person based on the latest enumeration made by the assessment corporation under the Assessment Act.

Revocation

4. Regulation 814 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 and Ontario Regulations 223/91, 358/91 and 456/91 are revoked.

Commencement

5. This Regulation comes into force on January 1, 2003.
