Order in Council 1029/2018

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas Order in Council O.C. 2450/2017 authorized the establishment of the Ontario Energy Board (“OEB”) Modernization Review Panel (the “Previous Panel”), and Order in Council O.C. 2451/2017 authorized the remuneration for the Previous Panel’s members, including the Chair;

And whereas Order in Council O.C. 2450/2017 and Order in Council O.C. 2451/2017 were both revoked pursuant to Order in Council O.C. 988/2018, effective June 29, 2018;

And whereas subsequently a new Ontario Energy Board Modernization Review Panel (the “Panel”) was established by Order in Council pursuant to subparagraph 12(1)(a) of the Ministry of Energy Act, 2011;

And whereas the Order in Council authorizing the establishment of the Panel provides that the members of the Panel, including the Chair, shall be paid such remuneration and expenses as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 12(2) of the Ministry of Energy Act, 2011, the following remuneration and expenses are determined:

1. The Chair of the Panel shall be remunerated at a rate of $723.00 per day, up to a maximum of 36 days, such that the maximum payable is $26,028.00;
2. Each member of the Panel, other than the Chair, shall be remunerated at a rate of $723.00 per day, up to a maximum of 27 days, such that the maximum payable is $19,521.00 per member; and
3. The members of the Panel, including the Chair, shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their duties in accordance with applicable Management Board of Cabinet and Treasury Board directives, including the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive.
