Order in Council 1096/2021

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council established the position of Special Advisor to support the development of an Ontario Data Authority (the “Special Advisor”) to provide advice to the President of the Treasury Board under Order in Council 865/2021;

And whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council considers it advisable for the Special Advisor to provide advice to the Minister of Finance;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario:

The position of Special Advisor to support the development of an Ontario Data Authority as established under Order in Council 865/2021 is hereby continued;

The Special Advisor shall be accountable to the Minister of Finance and shall perform the duties and carry out the activities set out in the Terms of Reference established by the Minister;

Orders in Council 865/2021 and 866/2021 will otherwise continue to apply to the Special Advisor position, with necessary modifications.

For greater certainty, nothing in this Order affects the appointment of Andy Best as Special Advisor under Order in Council 915/2021 and that appointment continues unaltered.
